Raw Footage
"Haitian police shot and killed a man they suspected of stealing rice in earthquake-ravaged Port-au-Prince on Thursday, leaving his body on the sidewalk for hours as his family mourned. The dead man's mother identified him as Gentile Cherie, a 20-year-old carpenter. A companion with him was wounded, and a third man nearby was hit by what he said was a stray bullet."

Exiled in South Africa, Arisitide Says He Wants to Return to Haiti to Help Rebuild the Country, Moving from Misery to Poverty with Dignity
Ousted Haitian President Jean Bertrand Aristide spoke out yesterday from exile in South Africa. We feel deeply and profoundly that we should be there, in Haiti, with them, trying our best to prevent death, Aristide said. R.I.P Teddy Pendergrass
Theodore DeReese "Teddy" Pendergrass, Sr. (March 26, 1950[1] – January 13, 2010[2]) was an American R&B/soul singer and songwriter. Pendergrass first rose to fame as lead singer of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes in the 1970s before a successful solo career at the end of the decade. In 1982, he was severely injured in an auto accident in Philadelphia, resulting in his being paralyzed from the waist down. After his injury, the affable entertainer founded the Teddy Pendergrass Alliance, a foundation which helps those with spinal cord injuries.
In 2009, Pendergrass underwent surgery for colon cancer and had difficulty recovering from that disease from which he eventually died on January 13, 2010, at age 59, while hospitalized at Bryn Mawr Hospital in suburban Philadelphia.[12]

"Pants On The Ground": The New American Idol Smash!
Posted Wed Jan 13, 2010 7:09pm PST by Lyndsey Parker in Reality Rocks
Every once in a while, a new American Idol viral hit is hatched. There was Renaldo Lapuz's "We're Brothers Forever," Milo Turk's "No Sex Allowed," and of course William Hung's "She Bangs" cover, for instance.
But not even Renaldo's repetitive brotherly love anthem was as catchy as 62-year-old General Larry Platt's new musical rant against baggy-trousered B-boys, the instant classic "Pants On The Ground," which debuted on tonight's Atlanta auditions Idol episode and instantaneously made "#PantsOnTheGround" one of the top Twitter trending topics of the night. This song is clearly the best thing to happen to the belt industry since the invention of the beer-bottle-opener belt buckle, as well as the best thing to happen to television since the invention of TiVo:
Everybody, now:
Pants on the ground
Pants on the ground
Lookin' like a fool with your pants on the ground
With the gold in your mouth
Hat turned sideways
Pants hit the ground
Call yourself a cool cat?
Lookin' like a fool
Walkin' downtown
With your pants on the ground
Get it up!
Hey! Get your pants off the ground!
I am outraged that the Idol producers didn't waive the under-28 age limit to allow this ageless musical genius to advance to Hollywood Week and perform "Pants" as a duet with Larry's fellow flamboyant auditioner Skii Bo Ski. And if the producers don't invite the General to the season 9 finale to reprise this brilliant performance (complete with a chorus line of pants-sagging backup dancers, naturally), I will be even more outraged. It turns out the man is a veteran of Martin Luther King Jr.'s civil rights movement (see more details here), so the man deserves respect.
One more time, people, just for kicks:
Pants on the ground
Pants on the ground...

Amazing Clip
Classic Performance On Soul Train
Soul Train is a syndicated, music-related television program. In its 35-year history, the show primarily featured performances by rhythm and blues, soul, and hip hop artists, although jazz musicians and gospel singers have also appeared.
The show was known for its animated opening titles and sequences between musical performances featuring the popular cartoon train created by various cartoon studios. As a nod to Soul Train's longevity, the show's opening sequence (during later seasons) also contained a claim that it was the "longest-running, first-run, nationally-syndicated program in television history," with over 1,100 episodes produced from the show's debut through the 2005-06 season.
The series was created by Don Cornelius, who also served as its first host and executive producer, and aired from 1971 to 2006, with reruns continuing until 2008. Despite this, in years on air, Soul Train will continue to hold the honor of the longest, continuously-running first-run syndicated program until at least 2016, if and when its nearest competitor, Entertainment Tonight, completes its 35th season. (If ET does not complete a 35th season, Wheel of Fortune would pass in 2017 if it continues to air.)
